Super Mario 2
I should have posted last week after Dancing With The Stars but, well, I didn't. I have to say, watching Mario Lopez in a dance contest can't help but make you think of a certain episode of Saved By The Bell. I keep waiting for them to announce that their next dance is "The Sprain". Good thing it's not. Screech and Lisa would have that in the bag.
I must admit my shock when Mario announced to millions of viewers that he had never had any dance training. Say what?! He may not have gone to his neighborhood dance academy, but I would say four or so years on a show where you are paid to be a dancer should qualify as professional dance experience. Admittedly, upon closer inspection, I can buy that he went into Kids Inc. without any previous training. In fact, I never noticed how often they stuck him in the back. Regardless, I think he's discounting the dancing he did as a kid. In response to the host's disbelieving question, "You never did ANY dancing?" he replied something like, "I did some breakdancing." Uh-huh. Does this look like breakdancing to you? Consider this 46 seconds of "Whatev!" He's the guy in the masculinized Flashdance getup. (this week's clip in a more manageable download size.)
Doing this in a breakdance competition would've gotten the snot beat out of you
