We put the "fun" in funeral
If you're here, you probably know me and, therefore, know how much my life has sucked lately. Fear not, I'm not here to talk about that. But, I should say that that's the reason I haven't been blogging in the past month. There. That's out of the way.
Anyway, since I've found that a day full of housework isn't the best motivation for getting out of bed when you're trying to get over deep depression, I've been immersing myself in fun little projects. Right now I'm in the middle of archiving all of my grandmother's pictures for her, since someday they'll have to be divided among her children and I don't want there to be bloodshed. It's a lot to scan, but I'm enjoying it. But, I have to say, delving so deeply into your family's photographic history can be enlightening. One thing I've learned is that we can be so very, very weird.
Right now I'm in the middle of funeral pictures. Yes, we take pictures at funerals, which is weird enough. But, because people are sticking cameras in our faces, we feel compelled to smile. So, I'm flipping through picture after picture of people with their arms around each other, grinning from ear to ear with funeral flowers and/or tombstones in the background. Yeah, nothing says family fun like a day at the funeral home.

See what I mean?
